MOZA HMA150 vs SIMRIG SR3: the newcomer lands below the specialist
Moza opened orders for the HMA150 on 28 July 2026, its first actuator-based motion system. Four actuators, three degrees of freedom, €3,199. Facing it, the SIMRIG SR3 from Swedish maker SIMRIG, established on this segment for several years, is listed at €4,979.90 in France.
The gap is €1,780, and it runs against the usual order of things: the generalist arrives below the specialist's price. Before going further, one point governs everything that follows: the HMA150 has not shipped yet. Everything stated here about its performance comes from its spec sheet, not from real-world use.
What Moza claims
The HMA150 reproduces pitch, roll and heave. Moza quotes 150 mm of stroke, 300 mm/s of speed, acceleration above 1 G and a payload of roughly 250 kg, cockpit, seat, screens and driver included. Add a 21-bit encoder, a 600 MHz processor, latency of around 8 ms, haptic feedback up to 200 Hz and a stated noise level under 55 dB.
The architecture is the most notable choice: the electronics sit inside each actuator, running at 48 V. No external control box, no separate power supply to find room for under the rig. This vertical integration is what Moza has been known for since the R9 — servo motors, electronics and software designed in-house — and it probably explains a good part of the price.
On the software side, Moza ships Motion Manager along with an AI Motion feature, meant to generate effects for titles without usable telemetry. It's the hardest claim to judge from a catalogue: it will have to be seen title by title.
What the SR3 puts up against it
SIMRIG does motion and nothing else, in Sweden, and the SR range is the result of several years of development. The SR3 uses four industrial linear actuators for the same 250 kg payload, with 70 mm of stroke, 100 mm/s of speed, a stated precision of 0.1 mm and software latency of about 7 ms. The electronics are external: an ECU and a 1,000 W power supply to house somewhere.
On the spec sheet, then, the HMA150 leads — more stroke, three times the speed, for €1,780 less. What the SR3 holds onto doesn't show up in a table: a product that has been shipping and in use for years, mature software with no subscription, VR compensation under OpenVR and OpenXR, European manufacturing and someone to talk to for support. It is in stock today, which is no small thing against a preorder.

The real cost, beyond the sticker price
In both cases the price covers the motion system alone: no chassis, no seat, no wheel, no pedals, no PC. An actuator system lifts the whole cockpit, which assumes a rigid structure — a folding or flexible rig is out of the question. If your chassis isn't stiff enough, the spending doesn't stop at the kit.
Two points specific to the HMA150: some 40120 and 40160 profiles with a closed central rail require an adapter kit priced at €58.99 (verified on 4 August 2026), and the system is stated as PC-only. The SR3 mounts on dedicated brackets or on 20x20 profiles, but its ECU and power supply need space and cable routing.
Who it's for, and on what condition
This level of spending suits setups that are already well advanced. A motion system at €3,000 or €5,000 makes little sense before a serious force-feedback base, hydraulic pedals — a Simucube-class rig, even — and a machine able to hold a stable frame rate, since movement reads all the better when the image doesn't stutter. That's the profile of our high-end PC build, designed for triple screen and VR.
Beyond that, the choice comes down to a fairly clear trade-off. The HMA150 offers a more ambitious spec sheet for considerably less, with the unknowns of a first generation. The SR3 costs more and claims less, but it exists, it ships, and its software ecosystem has already been put through its paces by users. Anyone who would rather not be the one ironing out the wrinkles will pay the difference knowingly.
We have not tried the HMA150, and no figure in this article comes from real-world use. A spec sheet says nothing about how it feels on track, how the effects are dosed, how loud it is in a living space, or how mature a first-generation firmware turns out to be. AI Motion in particular can only be judged in use.
Two questions stay open for a first product: how mechanical parts under constant load hold up over time, and what after-sales service looks like for a heavy, bulky assembly that would have to be shipped back if it fails.
