Mid-range Sim Racing PC: stepping up to 1440p ultrawide
Once past the discovery stage, many sim racers look to gain immersion: more resolution, an ultra-wide screen, higher graphics settings. That's where our mid-range build comes in, designed for 1440p on an ultrawide screen.

What is it for?
This build targets 1440p on an ultrawide screen (21:9 or 32:9). Enough power to keep good smoothness even at high settings, across the main simulators. For triple screen or high-refresh VR, look instead at our high-end build; to get started at 1080p, the entry-level one is enough.
Our component choices
On the processor side, a Ryzen 5 9600X (6 cores, recent AM5 platform) brings a real step up from the entry level. The graphics card, a Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB, is built for 1440p at high settings, with a comfortable 16 GB of video memory for wide screens.
We move up to DDR5 memory (AM5 platform), a 1 TB NVMe SSD, liquid cooling (240 mm AIO) to keep the processor cool, and a well-ventilated case.

AMD or Intel?
Some prefer AMD, others Intel. The builds page lets you switch from one platform to the other in one click, and shows by default the one offering the best price at the moment. The choice stays entirely in your hands.
The GPU stays the most expensive part of the build, whatever the tier. What many people don't realise is that the second-hand market regularly offers previous-generation graphics cards with very similar performance, for a noticeably lower price.
